God's Intended Relationship With Man

In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, he made the earth his footstool – the place where above all his creation (outside of Heaven) he would choose to inhabit, and where he placed mankind whom He made in His own image.

His original intent was to create a nation of kings and priests - a people in whom He would place His Spirit. And through the counsel and instruction of His Spirit, give man the wisdom to rule all that He had placed on the planet, Earth.

‘I wanted a people of love and harmony - a people with whom I could communicate daily: who sought to know my heart and the things that pleased me. Who would embrace my Holy Spirit and follow my counsel. I wanted a people who managed with integrity the resources and ideas I gave to them. I wanted them to love me, to refer to me, to understand me and draw close to me, knowing that in me alone lay their ability to live life to the fullest. In me was their potential to prosper and successfully rule the land I had given to them. Resting in me was to be their very sustenance. In me was everything they would ever want for life. Everything they would ever desire. But they rejected me.

‘They did not understand that I didn’t want it for selfish reasons. They didn’t understand that it was not that I wanted to restrict them or control them. They did not understand that it was because I wanted the best for them. I wanted them to be fulfilled, to be near me and share my joy. So they refused.

‘They did not understand that it was in me alone that they could find all the things they were seeking. They refused to believe me, and turned away from me to their own destruction. And even, now, after I have given my very life blood for them, they still reject me and see me as a faulty God. But I am still all that I ever was, and my purpose does not change. I shall have a kingdom of priests and kings.’
