Sat I on a broken bench, gazing at nothing.
Had I any words left to say?
Or was I in a mindset to listen?
I knew nothing.
Quietly I sat there with no one near;
Yet strongly felt that someone could see me clear.
“Why are you troubled my child,” said He.
Only to see tears roll down on me.
“It hurts Daddy to get paid this way.
Why doesn’t love among people always stay?”
“I’ve counted every tear and heard ever sigh;
To your sleepless nights, witness is the sky.”
He closed His palm on mine and looked into my soul.
“Have courage and be strong for you are to love still few.
Don’t worry about anything for I’m yet to pay you.
I know my plans for you—I need you to stretch a little more.
You’ve trusted me thus far and now I want to trust you
In this difficult time, only to bless you soon for sure.
