Leafless, it brings tears to my eyes
Its spread-out little brown fingers
Tug at my heart.
Still its struggles
Seem more like a sway
At times it may tremble,
Its boughs remain proud.
The clutches of the wind
Might have emptied it outside,
It couldn’t be drained of
The hope coursing through its veins
With the touch of the sun’s
nurturing rays
The branch will bear
Its new set of leaves
To the sky’s smiling face
