After a week of Vacation Bible School, my three year old was standing on the chest I use for a coffee table. She was singing to heaven the new song she had learned. She was quite animated and loud as she watched herself in the mirror.
All of a sudden, I am sure I heard my LORD laugh out loud as she sang what was supposed to be "Alpha and Omega". The words got all mixed up. Instead the song became "Apples In Jamaica".
My heart got a tickle and I began to laugh. The more she sang the harder I laughed. That is when my mind's eye could see my LORD with HIS head way back having a good roar. He's been called a lot of things, but I'm not so sure "Apples In Jamaica" is one of them.
Thank you LORD, for the beautiful gift of laughter! Oh, how it can brighten the heart and make a song so much more personal.
