The Signs
Glenn Cook
Every day new meanings arise in His word,
Making the teachings of yesterday sound absurd,
All of this a sign and a warning,
It’s just going to happen haven’t you heard,
There will be something new each and every morning.
Some will say that here He comes,
The thought of that makes me numb,
Then there are those that say that He already went,
A dreadful thought just for some,
The truth only matters if you can repent.
Just the argument is a sign,
We are reaching the end in time,
Most will argue that it is over rated,
The eyes are blinded because of their crimes,
The crimes that He has always hated.
He continues to wait with His anger and wrath,
Waiting for us to follow His narrow path,
Push to far this time and it means animation,
Even the profits could do the math,
Add everything up and find your destination.
Diseases and famine, the threat of wars,
Abortion and divorces, even legal whores,
Murder and immorality, multiple earthquakes,
It’s all piling up; He won’t take much more,
Read the writing on the walls, there is no mistake.
Does talking about this make me a radical?
Or does seeking the truth mean being practical,
I’ve gotten to where your opinion doesn’t matter,
I am looking for Him, my intentions insatiable,
At the wedding feast, my nametag is at my platter.
It’s nothing more than just a few signs,
No reason to worry, there’s plenty of time,
Don’t let me interrupt you with my hard sale,
After all it’s merely just life, not a severe crime,
I’ll just be in heaven, so I won’t see you in Hell.
