Written for a friend who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.
I've walked with you through fragrant fields
Among the blossoms in the Spring
And watched the hummingbird bring praise
To God upon her tiny wings
I've stood with you on golden sands
Beneath the friendly Summer sun
When smiles were warm and days were long
We shared the frolic and the fun
I sat with you as lights grew dim
When Autumn with it's sunset hues
Brought stillness to the fragrant fields
And draped the skies in somber blues
And now that winds of change roll in,
With signs of Winter all around,
I'll kneel with you in time of need
My friend, I will not lay me down
I'll walk, I'll stand, I'll sit or kneel
With you through sunshine or through rain
For we've a God who hears our plea
If ever seasons should bring pain
A God whose love will help us see
That even Winter with it's cold,
Among the lightning, rain and snow,
Has hidden wonders to behold.

Norma, this is truly inspired (not to mention inspirational and encouraging). I thought every word of it was beautiful, probably because it was written totally from the heart. I'm praying right now for your friend. With love, Deb
