Rolf sat by one of the glass windows of the big observation deck and looked out over the coast of the United States. For his first look at the US, Rolf was amazed by how big it all seemed. Down below in the early morning hours, Rolf figured the local fishermen wondered what mysterious gray cloud was passing overhead. He was drinking a cup of coffee and looking at his bible this early in the morning because he was having trouble sleeping. He kept on thinking about Willy and his search for faith. Rolf overheard a steward saying the Hindenburg was only four hundred miles from Lakehurst New Jersey which was the airship's destination.
Rolf went back to his cabin and went back to sleep. After a while, he woke up and took a free shower on B deck.After putting on some slacks and a sport shirt, he went up to the dining room to eat some breakfast. While eating a roll and drinking some coffee, Rolf noticed the captain of the Hindenburg, Captain Pruss sitting at the next table.
