"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."
2 Corinthians 4:17
Holy Spirit-impart thy wisdom today and teach your students your Holy word. In Jesus name.
So often we face so many troubles in life. And sorry to say but no matter how "mature" a christian you are, how wise, old, experienced or educated on life-they hurt! Our flesh reacts and we want OUT of the situation, whatever it may be. However, there is a reason for each trial that we go through, and often when others see Gods hand on our life, as we go through these trials, He gets the glory! Many times during a hardship in my life, people have commented, "Jamie, its so neat to see how God has worked through this area in your life for His glory." His involvement in my hardships have apparently been evident (to everyone but me??). Though from the outside looking in, its much easier to see God's involvement and concern than for one who is in the midst, suffering. But here is a question-If LIFE was perfect, how would we ever get to see how POWERFUL God is?
There are so many times in my own life that I will not get into where God has truly, to put it plainly-saved my butt!!! And I do mean literally in some cases. As in near car accidents, where I would have become roadkill if not for His intervention!! And in other circumstances, he has just shown complete unmeritted favour on His part, incredible mercy, where I should have paid dearly for my mistakes, but did not. So you see, its so fun being a goof up, because then we get to see how incredible God is, right!?
I imagine that when we finally get to see our Lord face to face, those momentary troubles that we faced in this life will seem pretty trivial and light. I think when we see God's fullness of glory, we will be in complete awe of Him, and oblivious to the past troubles we have faced.
I'm not too good on giving advice, probably because I am not so great at taking it sometimes. However, this just popped in my head, and I know its from the Holy Spirit-Never bow down to your troubles-always bow down to your God.
As we journey with Christ, we will have twists, turns, potholes, and car crashes(ouch), but we have an incredible Counselor, and amazing life insurance, and a "stronghold" in times of trouble" who will not "leave or forsake you." So basically, when you have the Lord, you're set! God's glory displayed in His compassionate intervention in our lives outweighs the trials we face in life.....being a Christian does not make us immune to lifes problems, it does, however make them much easier to bear, because we have a Saviour who is aware of the probles we face, a great High Priest who can sympathise with our problems, because He too has been there. And we have a God whose grace is sufficient for all we face in life, as long as we face it by His side.
Dear Lord-thank you that you are with us always, and the harder it gets, the closer You draw unto us. Minister to the hearts of those who read this today and remind them of your gentle presence and unending love. In Jesus name
