Let every man
be quick to hear,
slow to speak,
slow to anger,
for the anger of man
does not work
the righteousnous of God.
[James 1:19]

"Lord?"
"What."
"Are You still talking to me?"
[NOD.]
"I mean, after all that stuff
I said about You - to You."
"Yes, child."
"Hey, I'm only human!"
[PATIENT NOD.]
"And, You know, like You
said in.......I don't know;
somewhere......."
"Where, child."
"Eh....maybe, it's in Job:
something about You
being God and us
being - You know - not."
"Good, child.
Where is it."
"Uh, let me be lazy
and look up
the concordance thing.
(silence)
Here's something:
Then the Lord God
formed man
of dust in the ground.
[Genesis 2:7]
That part was
under 'humility', Lord."
[NOD.]
"What about Job."
"It's that part where
You came out of the
whirlwind. Here it is:
Where were you
when I laid the foundations
of the earth?
[Job 38:4]
I like this one, Lord;
it's very direct and
to the point."
[NOD.]
"I feel kinda' dumb:
I mean,
yelling at You,
and all that."
[SILENCE.]
"I mean, I'm like
this schmutzy little ant
You can just crush
with One Breath."
[SILENCE.]
"And, like,
I yell at You
all the time."
"I know, little one."
"It's pathetic."
[SILENCE.]
"It's really ridiculous."
[PATIENT SILENCE.]
"I don't why I do that.
I'm even less than an ant."
"Don't be this hard on
yourself, child."
"Hey, 'You being funny, Lord?"
[SILENCE.]
"That's pretty good.
Anyhow.......I don't
really know what
'righteousnous' means."
"Think, child."
"Well, it's got something
to do with religion."
"No."
"Eh, it's being really
good, all the time?"
"No, child."
"It's, eh, about
not yelling at God,
all the time?"
"No, child.
It isn't."
(silence)
"It's about,
eh.........
looking for You,
and not stopping
til'....."
"Go on."
"....we find You?"
"No, child.
That's only the beginning."

Blessed are those
who hunger and thirst
for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
