Sometimes in everyday life we neglect what is for real. We live each day eating and drinking as much as we want, we have the policemen that protect us, we have babies without concern of something going wrong, we watch tv in the security of our homes. But I wonder what it would be like if we didn’t live in America where we were safe, living in another country on the streets, or being raped almost every day.
When you see the pictures of the starving children on tv, do you ever wonder what their going through? Do you ever think of what's going on behind those bright big eyes? What runs through the mind every day? Hurt, abuse, abandonment, loneliness, confusion, etc.
When you look at the girls who used to be prostitutes, do you ever stop and think what it must have been for them to go through all that?
As Christians we need to pray for those who hurt all over the world. In a way we’re just like them. There are so many teens in America who are being abused. Being beat up by their father after a night of alcohol drinking, being ignored by their mothers and fathers, being alone every day even Christmas because their parents are working overtime, there are young girls being raped, people being killed.
We need to stop and remember this. Next time you see a starved boy or a hurting girl think of yourself. How would you feel? God has a purpose for everyone. Whether they be a Indian in Guatamala, a Eskimo in Greenland, or just a average everyday person doing their job, God loves each person. He said, “Even to the ends of the earth I will love you.” Hes never limiting any person of their abilities to do great things.
