The Least of These

at birth—forsaken
from a watery grave taken

grafted into royalty
his people in slavery

murder took him out of God’s concert
forty years spent hid in the desert
plenty of time to contemplate failure

but God is the great healer

invited to rejoin God’s game plan
he said I don’t think I can
you see, I’m not very eloquent

but to God he was very transparent

I made your mouth and I’ll help you to speak
into my plans for you, here’s a small peek

Stacey, I really enjoyed the message that your poem conveys...Moses was the most humble man on earth, and "ordinary joe" that God used in a mighty way. Thanks for the reminder! Irvin Rozier
