Once upon a high mountain top,
the pains of labor would not stop.
And into this world an angel came,
and "Margie Jean" would be her name !
So small and frail, pale and blue.
This tiny one made her debut.
Her features were perfect in every way.
But something was wrong, to our dismay !
The Doctors came with saddened face,
gave us the news an left in haste.
There was nothing good to tell
The heart she had was going to fail
We can fix most anything
that was the Doctors claim
So the surgeons knife cut her apart
opened her up an fixed her heart
We prayed the Lord her life to spare
He gave her back for us to share
The years went by an she was grown
Found a true love to call her own.
From that day on just for him she lived
Her very life for him she 'd give.
But a womanizer was this thief
The hurt he caused was beyond belief
With another his child was spawned
with no regrets he broke his bonds
On that day her fate was sealed
His life of betrayed no longer concealed
He broke her heart like shattered glass
threw it away like yesterdays trash.
To live each day she had no will
Her broken heart would not heal
Before our eyes she bared the pain
never to love that way again.
Day by day we watched her die
The wish for death shown in her eyes
. The doctor said her heart just gave out
but we knew the reason, there's no doubt
So she went away that fatehful night
letting her soul take it's flight
Now she's resting in God's love
This precious little baby dove.
Oh what saddnes it has been
with the passing of My Sister

What a beautiful way to remember a sister. I love to read something like a ballad which condenses a life's story so daintily, and with such feeling. Thank you.
