A Little Clay Vessel

Last night as I lay drifting off to sleep
an image came to me,
of a little clay vessel, full to the brim,
this was what I was to be

A gentle voice whispered in my ear,
'pour it out, let it go
for it is all the troubles of the day,
out of you it must go'.

I imagined turning that vessel on its side
emptying it all out,
and only then could I sit and listen,
to what this was all about.

Now that the distractions were wiped away,
I could come sit at Jesus' feet,
and simply sit and soak peace and love in,
listen to His voice so sweet.

It was such a wonderful reminder,
to come to the well each day,
and fill my heart with all things that are true,
so I'd know what to do and say.

A reminder of all that God does for me,
for the heart He's given me brand new,
and for the love that fills my life,
because God's the One who gave me you!

Now my vessel was full again to the top,
with happiness and joy so true,
and ready to pour it all out this new day,
showing you just how much I LOVE YOU!!
