The administrator and faculty decided to schedule a series of fun days for the students one year.
Among these were "Pajama Day."
The students giggled in anticipation of wearing their Pajamas to school. There was also going to be a contest to choose the best outfit for the girls and the best outfit for the boys.
Pajama Day rolled around and it was hilarious as imagined. The students thought of all kinds of clothing, items, to indicate sleep and bedtime. Some even brought their stuffed toys with them.
Many funny pictures were taken and prizes were given out at lunch time in the cafeteria for the winning outfits.
After lunch a first time visitor came to take a look at the school, intending to enroll his son there.
He spent about twenty minutes in the Principals office and then they walked outside to talk a bit more, standing on the sidewalk.
As they were standing there a third grader in a red striped night shirt passed by.
He was wearing big red foam deer slippers with two antlers on each slipper. He had on a long red elve’s night cap. The man stopped talking and stared.
Then a fourth grade girl walked by on an errand. She had on a long ruffled printed gown and a pink velour robe, belted at the waist.
Her hair was in huge pink curlers with a big white night cap stretched over the curlers.
She was wearing her mothers pink fuzzy slippers.
Lastly the man almost fainted when a second grader walked by wearing footed Pajamas and a tight stocking cap on his head made from his Moms
hose. He was carrying a Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy in his right arm.
The man looked at the principal and said, “I thought this was a Christian School!”
“This is a Christian School,” the Principal said, wondering what the matter was.
Well, when are they going to get uniforms?,” the man wanted to know.
The Principal laughed, “No! This is a Fun Day. This is Pajama Day.”
“Oh, “ the man said,”I was thinking that you folks let these kids dress entirely too casually around here!”
