A grandmother and her grandson were having a conversation.
The grandmother sat in her easy chair in deep contemplation.
Her favorite snack had mysteriously disappeared. Her grandson stood nearby with an angelic smile on his face.
“Grandma, you are the best grandma in the United States—probably the whole world, and in Canada, too.”
“Really?”
“Yes. And in Asia, too.”
“You are really nice today.”
“I just lovvvvvvvvvve you.”
“Um hmmn...Lets go to the computer. I need to look up a word."
"What is the word?"
"The word is ‘guile.’ Look, it says 'Intending to deceive, or mislead'.”
“What does that mean?”
“Just what it says. Being dishonest. I want to tell you something else. I believe you took my jelly donut.”
“Why?”
"My jelly donut disappeared. You were being overly nice to me to cover up your deed. Then there is the other evidence, too."
“What evidence?”
“There is jelly on your face, your collar, and crumbs on the floor. The refrigerator door has jelly fingerprints on it..."
The six year old turned and looked in the mirro at his sticky face.
“I was only trying to help,” He whined.
“How’s that?”
“I was trying to help your cholesterol. You don’t need any more.”
“You ate my jelly donut to help me cut down on my cholesterol? Come on, next time ask for what you want instead of taking it and then using
G U I L E."
“Sorry…..."
"Grandma, why do you keep circling those days on the calendar? Are you making smiley faces?"
“No. I am counting the days until your school starts again!”
Stop with the flattery. God tells us to obey, and then Just Ask!

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
