(1) Scholars disagree whether this is a glottal sound devised to be an explosive utterance for maximum stress or whether this is the continuation of the dactyl metrical rhythm established in earlier lines and hardly accented at all.
(2) Earlier although less reliable manuscripts do not include the exclamation, hinting at a more passive and subdued ending acting as a subordinate denouement to the more climactic and angst-ridden line previous.
