I opened the door to a blast of heat,
t'wil be the hottest day of the year,
even the air seemed to have melted a bit,
everything was fuzzy instead of clear.
The plants all were drooping from exhaustion,
their leaves all limp with despair,
as if to say 'oh please give us water -
doesn't anyone out there care?'
It reminded me so of what I used to be,
like a plant drying up in too bright sun,
wishing for something, I knew not what,
not even hoping, feeling all was finished and done.
I suddenly felt the freshest of breezes,
it cooled my face as it blew,
and Jesus stood there with the water of life,
and promised to make my heart brand new.
The joy I felt saying that simple 'yes'
with the tears running down my face,
Jesus gently wiped them all away,
putting comfort and peace in their place.
Now I had a new heart inside,
and new eyes with which to see,
that mercies were fresh and new every day,
'Live with joy,' He said, 'for now you are free!'
That was just the wonderful beginning,
for more happiness came, with wishes coming true,
and best of all, Jesus gave me a love,
the desire of my heart, He gave me you!
Now together we seek His path,
each day holds wonders anew,
and I am filled with such sheer happiness,
that each day even more I LOVE YOU!!
Like well-watered plants, we flourish together,
in sheer joy our hearts just soar,
and I look back and am filled with awe,
I have it all, who could ask for anything more?
