A church congregation decided to have a prayer revival.
Everyone signed a sheet to pray for one hour a day, but they all agreed to just be prayerful the whole week whether it was their time to pray or not.
Those who were housewives or retired decided to take the tough hours of the early morning since they did not have to leave home to go to a job.
Many supernatural things happened that week. The angels were very busy and happy it seems, waking people up when it was their time to pray!
By midweek service a different atmosphere had taken a hold onto the church. People were so excited and joyful!
Joy seems to be the operative word. They were all saying,
“Wow I haven’t been this joyful in years!”
”Why are we so joyful?”
“Aren’t you joyful that we all are so joyful?”
Even the perpetually grouchy people in the congregation had taken on a joyful personality.!
They were all joyful to be joyful!
By Sunday morning a genuine miracle had taken place. People who had not been to church in months and years suddenly showed up. They were joyful, too!
Old grudges and hurts were forgotten and forgiven because everybody was so full of joy. The prayer revival blessed not only that church but the whole community.
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.
