Here are the chapter summaries:
Preface "Is This The Right Book?"
Introduction "What are You doing, God?"
Chapter One "Beyond The Veil" We begin our
study of biblical worship by close examination of what
occurred in the Temple at the moment of Jesus'
death. Nothing will ever be the same between God
and man again!
Chapter Two "Tending The Soil" We have the
ability to have the perfect relationship with our
Creator, just as Adam and Eve had before their
rebellion. But all relationships require time and
effort, in order to be nurtured and to flourish.
Chapter Three "Living The Life" We carefully
study three Scripture texts that have much to say to us
about the worship-filled life.
Chapter Four "What Does The Spirit Feel
Like?" Most people base their understanding of the
workings of God the Holy Spirit in worship upon their
experiences, and church practices. To not strive for
biblical integrity in our worship is to risk very
dangerous error, which may have eternal
Chapter Five "The Three Sources of Conflict"
There are three sources of influence that seek to affect
our will. These sources are generally in opposition to
each other, and therefore we must choose which one
will lead us.
Chapter Six "Speaking of Tongues" This chapter
title may seem a little misleading. Although the topic
of "speaking with other tongues" will be included, this
chapter will actually be my attempt to clarify some
Christianese terms that I realized I was using without
explanation. I know... the middle of a book is a really
silly place to put your Glossary; but maybe there were
some terms or phrases that I had used in previous
chapters without qualification, that may now make
sense to you!
Chapter Seven "It's Just An Expression" While
music is a valuable tool that may be used in biblical
ways to express worship to our Lord, music is NOT
Chapter Eight "The Body Language of
Worship" The Bible has a lot to say about what our
bodies are doing during worship. Don't we have to
assume that it's important to God?
Chapter Nine "Ichabod" There are examples in
Scripture when the Spirit (Glory) of the Lord
departed from His people. What caused this? Should
we be concerned?
Chapter Ten "... And The Second Is Like Unto
The First" When Jesus was asked what was the
GREATEST commandment, He responded by giving
"the two and greatest commandment". No,
that's not a typographical error!
Chapter Eleven "Do Not Forsake The
Gathering Together" For all those who feel that
they can maintain a good relationship with the Lord
and serve Him, and they don't have to go to church in
order to do this... the Word of God has something to
say to you!
Chapter Twelve "And Now You Know" You now
have knowledge and hopefully understanding which
you may not have had before, regarding what the
Bible says about worship. The difference between
knowledge and wisdom is APPLICATION! May
God bless you as you seek to apply His truth to your
