Said the piped piper to the innocent souls
Come into the adventurous world of demons and ghouls
There is nothing to fear from them,
But you can earn your share of wealth and gems
Said the innocent souls to one another
Gather all our brethren and bring them here
There is someone who has promised great riches
Maybe this is the wealth that our Holy Book teaches
And so entered the innocent souls
Into the world of demons and ghouls
Some gained wealth but forgot to share
As each stepped into a new snare
Than the piped piper opened his bag of tricks
As for each innocent soul a new gift he picked
Some got jealousy, some got hatred and yet others stress
But each of those thought his gift was best
When they returned from their ghoulish adventure
Their lives changed from drab to splendor
They found their homes and hearth too small
And their families were becoming a burden most of all.
As their riches grew so did their special gifts the piped piper gave
Jealousy, hatred and stress draped their souls so naïve
But as each one of them turned away from the Holy Book so dear
A new gift began to take shape the one the piped piper called “fear”
What if the next man had more than me?
Should I stop him or just let him be
Never will I let anyone gain more than me
To his end I will bring him you see.
As each went for the others lives
Days and nights were spent only to survive
The homes shuddered under the banner of pain
Weapons of destruction fell like rain.
In one of the homes the walls shook
And from the altar fell the Holy Book
As the pages turned, one of them gazed
Upon a verse , the words so blazed
“What good is it to have conquered the world, when you have lost your own soul”
Come back to the faith as salvation should be your only goal
He carried the Holy Book to the others lost in mortal combat
And spoke of the words as his compatriots sat
Their souls clasped in the piped piper’s grip so long
Freed itself and once again joined together in a Holy Song
“Oh bring us back to our faith so dear”
“ Teach us Love and not fear”
As their prayers reached a rising crescendo
Their eyes filled with tears and weapons laid low
They looked at each other and each found himself
The brother they lost and the love so long ago dwelled
Come back to me said the Father from above
No matter what your sin or your faithless love
Don’t hide from me, for all I know
The price of your sins was paid long ago
