For these troubled times in our world, there is a strangely comforting Scripture:
"While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease." Genesis 8:22
At least something is unchanging and unchangeable by the likes of us. Absolutely dependable, as it is written, so shall it stand. It speaks with remarkable and insistent clarity to the fact that God is in control, no matter what it may seem like. Underneath are the Everlasting Arms. All else may fail, but this is Truth upon which we can depend. And how grateful we ought to be for this Blessed Assurance!
