This life oh Lord
is full of hardships,
and chords of vanity and strife
trying to strangle the sanity and life
out of me.
I see tragedies,
all around me.
Taking place day by day
life’s a witch
some might say
But I look away
toward the light
focusing forward
with second sight
On those things that delight
my being.
There are sights worth seeing,
there are good feelings
when I look as I should
on the noble and good.
Life’s best understood
from a positive perspective.
Lord lend me lenses
that are corrective,
since so much is subjective.

And the reason it is such a good poem is because it sounds like a raw effort that was based on true feeling and not a forced out, forged diamond. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. May God bless.
