When we write what is our motive?
To gain the praise of men?
It should be to bring glory to
The Savior once again.
Sometimes we are sitting up late
Our pen held in our hand,
If only thoughts came pouring out
Available on demand.
There are times miraculously
Words pop into our head,
While we are driving down the street
Or sound asleep in bed.
God has His ways of giving us
The words we are to write
Some come in the middle of the day
Some in the dead of night.
When a writer pens a poem
Or they write a story,
The words quickly come if they're
Writing for God's glory.
There are times He wants a poem
Written for another,
To lift the sagging spirits of that
Sister or that brother.
So let's always be ready to
Listen to God's Spirit
But we must be quiet and still
If we are to hear It.
And let's remember when we write
We can make someone's day,
Or we can leave them feeling down
By those things that we say.
Let us use our gifts and talents
Blessing all those we meet,
And for God to get the glory
We must remain discreet.

I enjoyed this. Sometimes we can get caught up "in the little yellow boxes" on this sight. But God should ALWAYS get the glory. Thanks for the reminder. In Christ's Love,
