CHALLENGED
By: Donna Haug
August 11, 2003

Called to be and not pretend
Hope sustaining till the end
Allowing nothing to distract
Loving even when attacked
Lingering hugs that can’t be rushed
Endless questions rarely hushed
Nightly prayers and time to chat
Gobs of patience, loads of tact
Enduring till the very end
Depending on my Closest Friend

I am CHALLENGED today to be the most determined, purpose-filled and loving Mom I can be, so help me God!

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6

“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Eph. 5:1

It is always good to see a basic truth put into simple and caring words. What if all parents lived this truth in their hearts and in their actions. Ray

Amen and AMEN Donna! What was it you wrote, "Gobs of patience"? That says it all just on its own! I definitely relate to this challenge. With love, Deb

Lingering hugs that can't be rushed. How well it is to remember to do that! Loved it! Short and sweet and true!

I really like the poem, but I love the next sentence. May God grant your request more and more. Davy
