This morning I’m filled by the sprit to render the following thoughts. I base these thoughts on Luke 6: 22-48 where our Lord teaches about loving enemies, judging others and the fruit in people’s lives.
How can we say love abound in this time of need? Just last night I exchanged arguments over the use of disparaging language in our culture and its effects on raising our youth. You see what is happening in the streets and portrayed in the media. We went from pointing the finger at Don Imus to pointing the finger onto the small segments of trendy music, which promoted this outrage of abusive language. My point is Hip-Hop did not create this abusive language. We all know who, when and why originated these words. We’ve become anesthetized to the world’s antics and some of us really don’t care. James 3: 2-12 some it up best “We all make mistakes, but those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way. This is a time of forgiveness. This cross-culture criticizing must end. Jesus said, “A good tree can produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. Whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” Where there is no Love, there is no Peace.
