There are so many things that call for my attention
So many to mention
So many directions
for me to turn to
My mind tends to wander
and wonder about what’s
going on these days.
What’s the latest craze?
Who’s the latest celebrity to misbehave?
Is binladen still hiding in the caverns of caves?
Tune in to talk radio on the air waves
They’ve got so much to say
about society today.
Politics and sports,
Coverage of controversial cases in our courts,
Gossip of all sorts of course
And NPR isn’t short on its environmental and world news reports.
So much information
So many stations
Paid for by the sponsors for commercialization.
After work I find time to turn on the TV
but not before I check to see who emailed me
And delete all the spam about how to go about
increasing my sexual vitality.
There are many a voice that call for my ear
but it’s my choice to choose what I care to hear.
I must be mindful in the midst of all of this
magical technological bliss,
not to miss the miraculous.
I run the risk of forgetting the fact,
That God exists.
