We are the clay,
and Thou art our potter
[Isaiah 64:8]
***********************
"Lord?"

"What is it, child."

"Is it true that You
are my potter?"

"Yes, child."

"Should I capitalize
'potter', Lord?"

"That's up to you, precious."

"Well, I think the Potter
needs to find some
better quality clay, Lord."

[SMILE.]

"This clay You're using
has been sitting around
the Artist's studio, a
bit too long, to be of
much good.
[silence]
Plus, it's full of lumps
and dirt, Lord. It's
really a big mess.
Why don't You just
toss it out?"

"Never, child."

"Well, I disagree.
I think this clay has
just about had it;
there's nothing much
left to salvage, if
You want my opinion."

"Yes. I know, child.
What does My Word say?"

"Oh, You mean this part:

For My thoughts
are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways
My ways...
[Isaiah 55:8]

Lord, You're always telling
me to read this part."

"Yes, child.
But, have you learned it?"

"I don't KNOW! Anyhow,
I think You should take
our opinions more into
consideration, Lord."

"Why."

"CUZ'."

"I see, child.
And, Who is your Maker?"

"Uh, You. But......"

"And, Who knows all things?"

"My tax accountant, Lord?"

[SMILE.]
"WHO, child. Tell Me!"

"Well, I guess YOU, but...."

"Read My Word."

"You mean this other part:

Woe to him who strives
with his Maker,
an earthen vessel with the Potter!
Does the clay say to Him
Who fashions it,
'What are You making'?
or 'Your work has no handles'?
[Isaiah 45:9]

Well, I've certainly got handles, Lord.
I don't think there's any disagreement,
there. But....."

"Child, I made you.
And, I AM making you."

"Yes. But, LORD!
The clay keeps falling apart
at the WHEEL!"

"And, where does it fall, child?"

"WHERE, Lord?"

"Into the Master's Hands."
*******************************
Then the Lord God formed man
of dust from the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life,
and man became a living being.
[Genesis 2:7]
