When our lives get tangled up
With weeds of pain and fears
We try so hard to loosen their grip,
As we struggle and shed many tears.
But when we pull up the wiry weeds
They seem to grow anew
Even with all our efforts,
Despite everything we do.
We find we cannot clean our soil
By working all alone.
We need the Master Gardener
To restore what HE has sown.
There’s a Place of Restoration,
Where we can plant and sow.
It’s a rich and fertile haven
Where seeds take root and grow.
We can find this wonderful refuge
Within Our Father’s Word.
By ‘listening’ to His wisdom,
We can learn from what we’ve heard.
He’ll teach us to destroy the weeds
That strangled us before
And make our lives more fruitful
So we can grow and soar!
This Place of Restoration
Will renew our souls and minds
As we’re taught to plant the special seeds -
The meaningful, life-changing, kind!
This poem is dedicated to my dear and precious friend, Sharon McClean, who steers so many souls to The Place of Restoration each time she shares God's Word so beautifully. I pray that she will feel renewed and restored herself every time she wraps herself in the Word. She is a blessing to me and to so many!

Your poem was good. I went out to the garden this morning and noticed all the weeds. I am not a gardener. My husband is, but he has just had a leg amputation and can't do it any more. But what I saw discouraged me. There was so much "restoration" that needed to be done and I can't do it. I CAN however, be restored in the garden of my soul, and your poem has brought that truth out so well. Keep writing for the Lord. God bless you.
This is so beautiful and such a blessing; I could relate in every piece. The tangle that seems like it won't get loose and the loving hand of God that restores. That you so much for that!

This is so beautiful, Peggy... just like you... and just like Sharon. And God gets the glory for it! That just makes it extra special. I love you both and the Lord so much. I'm so blessed to be able to call you two my friends and my Sisters. I don't know that I ever did anything to deserve it, but I thank God for the gifts He gave me when He gave me friends like you.
My dearest Peggy, I just don't know what to say. This poem is beautiful just like you are. What a precious thing to do! There is indeed a place of restoration just waiting inside of God's word which will renew our souls and minds just like you Say.
Thank you so much! I love you Sweetheart you are one of God's very special angels, and I am so blessed to have you in my life. Love, Sharon
