You
I am weak to show You strong
You’re righteous even through my wrong
My flesh is sinful and leads to death
My soul is saved by Your life-giving breath
Through the storms of life in You I trust
You alone are the One who is Faithful and Just
“Peace, be still.” You have commanded me
Calming my heart like the stormy sea
I praise You for Your glorious victory
Even when life does not allow me to see
You alone are worthy of all my praise
To You, O Lord, my hands, in worship, I raise
Brothers and Sisters,
In the heat of the Refiner’s fire we can find it hard to feel God’s wonderful mercies. Sometimes we focus on the wind and waves instead of Jesus. It is these times that we are able to praise and worship God with all sincerity. It is these times that logic eludes the Christian heart. It doesn’t make sense to the world that though we suffer under the strain of test and trials that we still have joy and more importantly the ability to praise God, who is worthy of praise.
This is how Christians worship, in spirit and truth, because when times are tough you can’t fake the joy that the Lord gives. You can’t fake the hope that you will be seen through (not around) this trial. Most import is that you are never alone because of His promise to never leave nor forsake us.
I’ve learned that you can memorize all the Scripture you want, but if you can’t apply it in your life, especially when you most need it, then you have just taken up space in your brain. The good news is that if you put the effort to learn the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will bring it to your heart during your trials and fires. It is these times that we may not feel God, but we can see Him more clearly than ever.
Some of you know the struggles that I am found in at this moment. I know they are smaller than what others face and larger than some. Regardless of the size of the actual situation it will seem monumental to our flesh. Our hope is not in our flesh but in Our Father, therein lies the difference between a “religious” person and a Christian.
I can never say it enough; Situations do not define us or Our God, they glorify Him.
Be blessed and keep serving.
A servant glorifying God,
Christian
