I looked out the window at the sunshine,
and wondered 'is it warm today?'
and will there be flowers in bloom all around
to accompany me on my way?
Outside I went to take my walk,
the birds singing their cheerful songs,
and the leaves in the trees waved gently at me
all a welcome, saying 'yes, you belong'...
The sun dappled the yards on each side,
baby squirrels were hopping about,
and I just had to give thanks and praise to God,
or the rocks on the ground would just shout!
How often do we walk by these things,
and though they're there, we just don't see,
the glories around in glorious profusion,
a landscape of wonders just for me.
It reminded me to always say that loving word,
to not put off what right now I might do,
to surround you with all the love in my heart,
to express how much I care for you!
I thank God for this morning walk
to show me all the small things that mean so much,
and for reminding me that it isn't what's bought
that gives every moment a loving touch.
So I will spend every moment today,
saying those words, doing all I can do,
to let you know how very rich I am,
all because of how much I LOVE YOU!

Seeing God's goodness in the smallest of blessings is a gift that few truly possess. I pray that the smallest of blessings does not escape my eyes. We have so much more than just the "big things" to be thankful for. "Yes, You Belong." I love that! Feels like a hug!
