I don’t care what you outlaw here,
Christmas will still be mine.
I don’t care if you want your world drear,
I feel the light divine!
And when all the lights have gone out or dimmed,
When all the bells have stopped ringing,
Watch here and see as I open the door ~
Light step! ~ I’ll come out singing!
While we’re about it, consider this thought:
It’s not me that you are offending.
It’s a far greater heart that grows heavy and hurts.
It’s a heart you will need with life ending.
Whatever you say, to take it away,
This day will be Christmas forever.
My heart tells me God loves it and will let it stay
Deep in my heart, like a fever ...
Forever to warm the merciful heart,
Forever to lift up the fallen,
Forever encourage ~ strengthen and hold;
Forever a sweet voice calling.
There will always be someone to hear,
Someone to turn and follow,
Someone to sing the songs of old;
Someone to rise out of sorrow.
When Christmas is here, to soothe and to cheer,
Fling open the doors of your heart!
For, no man can take what God wants to give.
Christmas will never depart!
