A soldier’s but one life to give
But with that he gives his all
And proudly wears a uniform
And bravely heeds his nation’s call
Some gave their all on battle fields
Though they’ll not hear Our Thanks
For when the final call was given
They lay among the ranks
Yet “A Special Thanks” goes out to those
Who In the Battle fell
Who gave their all for freedom
And served their country well
For some the battle still rages on
In memories, pain and, tears
They cringe at every gun shot
And loud noises still bring fears
Some are not called upon to fight
But still their heart is steady
Thankful for the peace they have
But they are watchful, ever ready
The last group we’ll just call “prayer warriors”
For without them we just might have lost
Or at least the victories we’ve enjoyed
Might have come at a greater cost
To all of you we give our “Thanks”
For everything you’ve done
For we would have no freedom
If not for each and everyone
