When facing a major decision, everyone has an opinion on what we should do. Some people make their decisions based upon money, others to be by family, others because of the prestige a position may bring. But deep down inside, we know we ought to listen to our hearts.
But how can we do that in such a noisy world. By drawing away from the crowd, by praying, by listening to the deep murmers inside.
Jesus said to floow his ways and to take his yoke upon us and learn from him. Jesus didn't make his decisions based upon money or prestige, but how it would further the kingdom.
So next time you are faced with a decision, ask yourself, will this promote peace? Will this enrich me intellectually, relationally and spiritually? Will this provide for my needs?
But mostly, will this bring peace and be best for the kingdom of God.
The verse, however, does say, take a step. So set out and do something and the path will beocme clear.
