Without pain there would be no rejoicing
In the great and awesome goodness of God
For it’s in our pain He gives us His strength
To make it through this world we trod
Sometimes we are like a weary traveler
Who finds no place to rest his head
Sadness and sorrow seem to surround us
When we have the task to bury our dead
But God is faithful; His mercies plentiful
He holds us in the palm of His hand
When we are weak, He will carry us
Our broken hearts, again He will mend
Cry out to Jesus in your sorrows
Climb onto His lap just like a child
Lay your head on His strong shoulder
Prince of Peace, so tender and mild.
For when you are weak, you are strong.....
This is written for everyone struggling with the death of a loved one. May God give you peace and comfort during this time of mourning.

Thanks for this poem. Although it is written for those suffering pain from the death of a loved one, it is good for me too right now. I need strength. Hart has just come home from the hospital after being in for a month. He has had an above the knee right leg amputation, and it will be a struggle for him to learn how to do things with one leg that we all do with two. Your writing is an inspiration. Thanks Julia
