A woman testified that a petty landlord overcharged her unfairly and swore out a suit against her. She tried desperately to explain her side of the situation but he was mean spirited and would not listen.
A court date was set and she was going to have to miss a full morning of work because of his pettiness.
The night before her court date, her mind kept telling her to take her Bible to court with her.
As she was getting dressed she almost decided to leave it-after all she would not have time to read or to concentrate in that environment. She grabbed it as she walked out of her door.
When she got to court, her case was the first one on the Docket. The court room was empty except for herself and the accuser. The Judge and Court reporter were very busy with another matter in another room.
She said “Good Morning,” to the Landlord but he turned his head and refused to speak to her.
She sat down and opened her Bible. When the Landlord saw the Bible he became very uneasy.
Then he began to twist in his seat and his hands started to tremble. He turned and began staring nervously at the exit. Sweat started to run down his forehead and in an instant her got up and ran out of the courtroom!
When the Judge came in, he asked what happened to the man who had been sitting there earlier. She replied that he had ran away.
The Judge dismissed the case and she never heard from the man again.
God will fight our battles if we keep still. He is our Advocate and he doesn’t fight His cases with mortal weapons.
