Joy, I shouted, but it did not come,
Joy, I whispered, but it did not hear,
Joy, I said, but it can't be found.
O where joy did I last put you,
O where joy did I hide you,
O when joy will I find you,
O Lord, please give me joy.
As gentle as a breeze,
The Lord then said to me.
Your joy had left,
when you pursued your career,
Your joy did leave,
when you stopped serving your husband,
Your joy is gone,
because you stopped caring for your children,
Your joy is waiting, when you come back home.
With tears in my eyes, I began to weep,
I wondered how this feminist view,
had gotten a hold of me.
O Lord, I cried, make a way to escape,
and I will return to my home,
Where Joy does await!

This is a great, yet a very simple message about joy. The Bible says that Satan came to steal, to kill and to destroy. He has stolen the joy of wives and mothers by decieving them to think that they must work outside the home! Lord, help all of us to be keepers at home! Thank you Jessica for this thought-provoking piece.
