Lord, I surrender everything,
My heart, my strength, my soul.
but don’t ask me to give up chocolate
that would be to higher goal.
Lord, I want to transform lives,
To start a charity,
I’ll go wherever you guide me,
As long as I’m back for tea.
I want to spend time in your presence,
learning what you want from me.
But couldn’t we do it later Lord,
Like, when Friends isn’t on T.V.
I love reading the Bible, Lord,
It’s after all your word.
Just not first thing in the morning,
I’m tired, or haven’t you heard.
The reasons I come up with,
Are varied and profuse
Train me Lord, to do your will,
Without inventing an excuse.
