The website grabbed surfers with this title – “Find Out When You’ll Die.” The directions asked for certain facts about yourself, then directed “Check Your Death Clock” and get the date you would die. Who would actually believe it?
The two questions to be answered after the input of the required information were, “So how long will you live? Will you change your habits in order to live longer?” Some responders had an unworried attitude, when they found they were given another 30 years to live. One said, “I’ve got till April 28, 2042. Yeah Baby.” Another said “My glass is now – always half full.” One comic, overweight and 65, said, “If I were thinner I’d die sooner. I guess I’ll just stay at 215 lbs.”
Can any human or machine actually calculate our death date? Biblically we are reminded, “It is reserved for all mankind once to die and afterwards to be judged” (Hebrews 9:27 NIV). Only One controls life’s end. Each of us has an inescapable appointment - the right preparation is extremely important.
Preparation means acknowledging that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He loved you enough to take your sins on Himself on the cross and die for you. When you truthfully seek this wisdom and accept His sacrifice for you, everyday can be true insights from Him for you. You will not fear the end. God’s calculator may be waiting for your decision.
