I came home tonight, Friday, and about drug myself home and in to sit down.
Iím watching my little grandson, who is so precious and sweet. But he is a handful. And my son and his wife have a huge dog, who is kind of like a great big second baby, only this baby is a real big dog. So I was relating to my daughter on the phone, laughing about how tired I am. And joking with her and saying- Iím getting old.
Well, praise the Lord! I was telling her I donít know how people who donít know the Lord manage. I could see as I was telling her about my week and day with the baby, and in my tiredness, and having to deal with the dog not minding, -how I have the Lord with me. Where my strength ends, His is there looking out at me, teaching me, giving me the right things to do, in His own life. His yoke is easy.
How different it is with the Lord. I can imagine how someone who does not know Him and His presence in our lives could come to the end of their rope in a situation and be so tired and get truly cranky or perhaps even desperate or worse. But the Lord keeps an even keel in us with His own life. He helps me all the time.
He helps me to relate to the baby, and relate to the dog. He gives me love, even for the dog when my patience is worn, and helps me relate to my little grandson with a joyfulness and love and determination to ďdo it rightĒ, that I never had on my own, or ever could have had.
As I was sharing with my daughter, I could ďseeĒ my Lordís presence welling up so clearly, such a joy and refreshing. I have to go back out tonight and do some other work. But I am so refreshed from His presence in an instant, the twinkling of an eye. All tiredness fades away, and my joy is made so full. I can go it again, because of Jesus.
I had to come and write as I see His presence in this way tonight. If you donít know Him, all you have to do is ask Him into your life and trust Him now and forever. Heíll be there with you. Youíll grow as you follow Him in your life.
Let me put it this way. Without Jesus, it is dry, hard, and without. With Him I can only right now describe it as a River that flows through my life with His life. Bubbling, glorious, and Him. His Presence. Not just a feeling, but the Presence of the Lord. Real Joy. And in my matters in life that get harder, He makes them lighter.
There is nothing like this walk with our precious Lord and Savior. Just nothing.
Come close to Him, and call on Him, and let Him know you want to know Him and His love in your life, get to know Him. Come and drink of Him.
Come and taste and see, that the Lord is good.
Come and be refreshed.
Sincerely, Kathleen Angell
