I must forgive you sweetie,
‘though you’ve hurt me ever so much
I must forgive you sugar,
‘cause I need God’s loving touch
I must forgive you darling,
‘though you’ve broken my heart so
I must forgive you baby,
‘cause in Christ I’m tryin’ to grow
I must forgive you precious,
and chalk it up as a lesson learned
I must forgive you pumpkin,
‘cause ‘bout my soul I’m concerned
I’m going to another level,
that’s where God’s takin’ me
On that level there’ll be no room
for animosity
No room for strife,
no room for grudge
No room for anger,
no room to judge
No room for bitterness,
no room for wrath
Only room to forgive,
as hatred crosses my path
So, I must forgive you honey,
I must forgive you doll
I must let go of bitterness,
I must give God my all
I must forgive you sweetheart,
and although you did me wrong
I can’t continue to sing the same,
sad, worn and weary song
‘Cause God is taking me higher,
His mercy is ever true
And regardless of what you did to me,
He’s taking YOU higher too
So, please accept my forgiveness
and let’s start this thing anew
‘Cause my God has forgiven me,
and I MUST forgive you
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
