I remember way last spring, looking at the lilac out back with leaves so green, but nary a bud, it seemed flowers it would always lack.
It is my favorite bush of all, reminding me of where I lived long ago, with purple blooms and the sweetest scent, I so wished for those flowers to show.
Then yesterday I went outside, it was such a pretty spring day, and there on that bush, right at the top was a bunch of buds, proudly on display!
It was like getting a gift so unexpected, as if God has sent it just for me, and now I anticipate with this growing joy, the flowers that are almost ready to see!
It reminded me so of how I feel each morning when I wake; and know that there is ahead of me, hours of happiness that are mine to take.
The source of that joy is also a gift, one sent just to me from God above, for He made me rich beyond belief, when He gave me you, He gave me love!
How can I thank God enough for this? Oh, I know just what to do; I will love you with all of my heart, and tell you a thousand times that I LOVE YOU!
