I wanted to take a moment to reach out to an extended family of believers who have encouraged me in this gift of writing over the years; asking for your continued prayers for me and my family.
On February 27th my Mother passed away.
It has left a feeling that I did not think that I could put to words.
After hearing news that was painful beyond belief; a chaplain at the hospital put His arm on my shoulder and said "You may not be able to say it all; but you can write it".
I knew that He had no idea the gift of God on my life to write and that God himself was putting my pain to words.
Please read this and be encouraged if you are a Mother. If not, and your Mother is still living, just give Her a call and say "I love you". I am thankful that I never hung up without saying I love you over the phone, and I can only pray that I allow my life to bring Glory to God as well as to a Mama that is everything to me!
A MOTHER'S LOVE IS FOREVER
WE HAD TO LET YOU GO
IT'S THE HARDEST THING WE'VE EVER DONE
YOU RAN A GOOD RACE
YOU FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT
YOUR BATTLE HAS ALREADY BEEN WON
VICTORY, OH VICTORY
FOR THAT ALONE WE DO REJOICE
YOU RAISED US MAMA
YOU LOVED US MAMA
YOU GAVE EACH OF US A VOICE
A VOICE OF STRENGTH THAT WE DID NOT KNOW
A VOICE TO DREAM AS FAR AS OUR HEARTS CAN GO.
NO MORE PAIN OR SORROW TO BARE
WE COULDN'T HOLD ON; WHEN GOD WANTED US TO SHARE
SO MAMA - WE SHARE YOU WITH HEAVEN NOW
AND TO US, WE'RE SHARING OUR BEST
PURPOSE FULFILLED - WE ARE SO THANKFUL
YOU CAN NOW TAKE YOUR PERFECT REST.
Dear Cassandra, My heart goes out to you! My Mother passed away a year and a half ago at age 97 and I am sure we both share many of the same emotions. If I can be of any help, please let me know... when you share healing seems to come faster. Your poem is so beautiful - it brings tears, but tears of loveliness. It is truly a gift to all who read it. Writing does help for it allows us to free the emotions of our souls and, in doing so, help ourselves and others, as well. Blessings to you and may God wrap His arms around you! Peggy
Sometime has passed since you allowed us the personal glimpse into your private pain, my heart surrenders tears for you because I can hear the heaviness of your heart. I pray the days have gotten better, and your joy for the members of the past have come to visit you day in and day out. My heart goes out to you and your family as you celebrate the year of your mother's passing in memories of yesterday, and thank you for encouraging us who still can feel and touch we have a chance right now to say "I love you." you have my prayers, God Bless and rest your spirit.
How beautiful are precious memories. It was so good to hear from you again. I have often thought about you and your family and how you were doing. May God continue to bless your gift of writing and may He give you the desires of your heart God is aware of your petition and He is moving things into order now.
