Love is a picket fence around the heart,
and Logic is a steel trap for thoughts.
Our love can heal what reason tears apart;
our logic teaches love what it is not.
It’s common sense that we are made for Love;
that Love needs understanding’s Logical.
And thus the two, like rubbing push with shove,
creates a fire whose glow is magical.
But problems come when one holds stronger sway,
eclipsing what the other has to give;
deduction fails to hear what love might say,
affection has no thought of how to live.
The two are feet, and this is not by chance;
without them both you’ll never really dance.
