A dear friend once said, ÒIf God made everyone like me, the world wouldnÕt have any problems, but the problem is, He didnÕt.Ó Some would say the operative word in that comment is problems, but as a Christian, I believe the operative word is God. Although many of the six and a half billion people on earth sport their own opinions on everything from aardvarks to zygotes, they live as though the important word is me. With the advent of the Internet and wireless communications, differing viewpoints travel worldwide at light speed. Anyone with an opinion can post it, text it, blog it, chat it, podcast it, or AIM it - wherever and whenever they please. In America, a pluralistic society where freedom of speech is revered, that right has been compromised by political correctness, a far left tool being used to dumb down the populace and make us one. Their mantra is that we continue to exercise freedom of religion and be tolerant of all beliefs, except the belief that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. The usual suspects, ACLU lawyers, liberal judges, and environmental activists, are trying to legally deplete us of our only resource Ð JesusÐ while promoting the religion of Global Warming to unite mankind in an effort to avert catastrophe.
Right now, the usual suspects Ð Hollywood, the media, and liberal theologians Ð are dredging up the titanic lie that Jesus was never resurrected after His death. Ten boxes of bones, or ossuaries, with names inscribed, were found in Jerusalem in 1980, and some now say they might be the bones of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and a son. Since God, who does not lie, has told us in His word that He raised Christ from the dead, IÕm guessing those bones might belong to Jimmy Hoffa or Keyser Soze. Of course, this docu-ploy discovery bolsters the story invented by Jewish religious leaders back then that His disciples stole His body from a heavily guarded tomb. Although these men may be only trying to make a boatload of money, the devil has an administration in this deception. The attack is two-pronged. First, there never was a resurrection, so Jesus is useless. Therefore, we must unite as one and use mankindÕs ingenuity to save Mother Earth from the wrath of the sun. Woe to us if we donÕt!
However, I suspect our unusual God Ð Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Ð who gave us PaulÕs ministry of grace, will use us to bring the Gospel message to the world. God has gifted us to be different than the world, and He has made former, usual suspects Ð you, me, and every other Christian Ð into unique prisoners of Christ that proclaim His love and warn of the coming wrath of the Son. Each one of us really has a special ministry thatÕs been ordained by God. However, no matter what our ministry is, we should all be united in presenting one glorious historical truth: Christ Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and three days later arose.
