Any Old Rock
Any old rock is marked by Jesus,
Any old stone will testify,
When the earthquake came ~ the veil torn asunder,
God marked the rocks hidden deep and high.
Any old rock ~ did you ever wonder ~
Even “Genesis” that they brought from the moon;
You will find the lines and the broken pieces
Even in a diamond or a precious jewel.
And I believe it’s written in His precious Bible ~
Written very plainly, and even in red;
That if He hushed the people who were praising Jesus,
Hard old rocks would do it instead!
Any old rock shouts “Rock of Ages,
Be the cornerstone, the chief of all!”
Cast aside, disqualified, by the blinded builders
God has made a Cornerstone on Whom we call!
Rock of all the ages,
Cleft a place for me,
Let me hide from storms of life
Safely in Thee!
