WHERE HAS LOVE GONE?
Sirens screaming, buildings burning, babies crying out to be loved and rescued, chaos everywhere we look. What is the meaning of all this? Where is it going? When is it going to end?
Folks, it does not take a genius to look around in wonder at all the ugly conditions of the world in which we live and ask themselves what in the world is going on. If you watch the news once a day, you will be overcome with grief and very hard-pressed to find anything good to pass on to a friend in day-to-day conversation.
Our children are being beaten to death left and right, our grandparents are nobody to anybody, our leaders are trying to find the right “lie” to tell that will put them over the top. Stop! Look! Listen!
As alarming as these things are, there is something that is literally scaring me to death. No one cares. Well, almost no one. I am seeing families that can scarcely find the time to call each other when a family member passes away. I see people turning their heads when a purse snatcher gets away with a little old lady’s purse. I see children that struggle to gain control of their lives as parents stay away from them as long as possible to make enough money to try to buy what they refuse to give in a measurement of quality time spent.
People, a slowly creeping monster is taking away the very thing that we are all fighting to keep. Do you see what is missing? Love is going away. Respect is almost a thing of the past. Please do not insult me by blaming the babies and the younger generation. We alone have allowed this to happen.
You see, Jesus IS love. He has been pushed away at every turn by diplomats, leaders, philosophers, and, yes, admittedly, by US. Freedom of speech, freedom of rights, freedom of religion, freedom………….freedom………freedom. But free from what?? Free from responsibility to our maker? Free from the only thing that kept it all together?? The only real freedom comes from an intimate relationship with a true and living God. He alone created us and everything we are looking at. The more we push him out of our lives, and allow him to be shoved away, the less love we will see around us. Please consider repenting in sackcloth and ashes. We must, before all is lost and time is no more.
