He carried His cross straight to His grave
for the joy set before Him His life he gave.
Both sheep and shepherd
both lion and lamb
from His own glory was he severed
to become a man.
Yet more than a mortal
more than mere flesh and bone,
both grace and truth
shone down from the throne.
The life He lived ,
the words he said,
all for Love ,
His blood was shed.
The suffering endured,
the path that was trod,
the gift of forgiveness
lead us to God.
