Under the sea in the bright aqua waves
Are the strangest of creatures who live in small caves
They sleep in pink clam shells and eat red seaweed
All the day long they feed and they feed
Come evening they stop but just for a bit
They have to take breaks or their clothes wouldn’t fit
Then after they’ve rested they munch on a snack
They put all that’s left in a neat little pack
It makes a fine treat for when they are swimming
Through tall coral castles with oyster pearl trimming
Their job is not hard, in fact it’s quite fun
They look for more seaweed and when they are done
They tote it all home and start eating once more
For eating red seaweed is their only chore
If not for these hungry and busy sea creatures
The ocean would have some very strange features
The waves would still pound against the seashore
And critters would live on the deep ocean floor
But the water would not be blue, no, instead
It would sparkle and shimmer a very bright red!
