As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,(Isaiah 55:10)
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness (2 Cor 9:10).
There is an evil in the midst of the people of God today, and the evil is the mistaken of self - identity. Look through into the world of those who profess the faith of the Christ of God, you will see nothing but mist of confusion everywhere. Christ has ascended on high, and He has given gifts unto men. We are told in the scriptures that there is a peculiar place for each and every gift given in the church, and that every gift has its own contribution to make to the growth and edification of the body as a whole. But today, we are not diligent enough to search for the purpose of the gift of God in individual lives. Rather, we go for the gift that rules the religious market, ignoring the truth that the judgement of God abides on whoever does not abide in the calling to which he is called by God.
The Lord said that He gives bread to the eater, and seed to the sower. But today, eaters have gone after the harvest of the sowers and have overnight become sowers. Eaters are in the field sowing bread. The results of which are corruption that we see in the soil of the hearts of professed believers, leanness we see in eaters themselves who have thrown away for corruption what they would have eaten with contentment and remain healthy, and the famine attaining its peak, for there is no hope of produce in the field.
The sowers also, in whose hands God has chosen to commit His viable seeds that are meant for planting, are the in the corridor, roasting seeds and feasting on them. They are not sensitive to hear the agony of the seeds as the cry against them to the hearing of God from the midst of their teeth. They go ahead to satisfy the belly’s need of today, and at the same time, preparing it unknowingly for the hunger of the future!
The eaters desire to be sowers, and the sowers desire to be eaters. No one cares about what ministry God has called him into. We graduate from evangelist to pastor, and from pastor to teacher till we attain the biggest title; apostle! Such gradation is sure not from the word of God, but rather from the heart of man that is fallen in the condemnation of the Devil; Pride!
What we need to pray for now is the opening of our eyes that religion has blinded, so that we will be able to retrace our steps back to the place where we are called to function. Then we will be able to do what is required of us and hopefully await the promise left behind for the faithful servants. No calling is superior to another. All occupies a peculiar place in the body. Are you called an evangelist, desire not to be a pastor. Are you called a teacher, therein abide. You will not be rewarded for what you are not called to do. Abide in your calling and we will see the harvest of righteousness in aboundance in the field. Shalom!

Very thought provoking article. It hits a very good point (and maybe a nerve for some). I think it is necessary for all to embrace the call to which they were called, not what they think they should be called. God is in control, yet too often we try to seize the reins through our impatience and pride. Thank you for this article. God bless. In Christ, Christian
