For having thought myself to be
Much more than what I ought
And by my sin destroying what
Your love in me has wrought
For having entertained in me
The awful sin of doubt
And holding fast to worldly things
I should have done without
For all the things which I have done
The way in which I’ve lived
I ask not justice, precious Lord,
But mercy…please forgive!
